Frequently Asked Questions
β β
What does it mean if a practitioner is listed here? They've voluntarily aligned their work with the Parent Baby Spaces Framework β committing to emotionally safe, non-judgemental, safeguarding-led practice, held with compassion, inclusion and respect. Recognition doesn't mean someone is a therapist or medical professional unless separately qualified β it reflects a commitment to holding space with care and integrity.
β β
I feel I need additional support. Can you recommend anyone? Parentβbaby classes are supportive, but they're not a substitute for clinical mental health or medical care. In the UK: your GP, your Health Visitor, NHS 111 for urgent advice, Samaritans (116 123), or PANDAS Foundation (0808 1961 776) for perinatal mental health support. In immediate crisis, call 999 or attend A&E. Registered instructors may signpost you, but aren't mental health professionals unless separately qualified. Your wellbeing matters deeply.
β β
How do I get started? Reach out through our contact form or drop me a message β I'll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.
β β
Are these classes regulated by the Government? No β Parent Baby Spaces is an independent standards initiative, not a government or regulatory body. Its purpose is to raise the standard of emotionally safe, ethical, supportive parent spaces across the UK.
β β
I don't need another membership, and I have years of experience. Am I just paying to be listed? Not at all β and your experience is deeply valued. This isn't about how long you've been doing the work. It's about making visible your commitment to how your space feels for parents, not just what you offer β standing behind the quality and intention of your space in a way parents can recognise and trust.
β β
How can I contact you? Via our contact page or email β we aim to respond within three business days.
